Tattoo removal / fading is now available at The Brookdale
Life changes can mean that you regret your tattoo.
Perhaps your employer does not allow visible tattoos.
Are you looking to make a change to your design?
We have the latest laser technology available to help reduce and fade your tattoo, so you can return to your tattoo artist for re-work or to be rid of it for good.
How does the ink stay in the skin when you have a tattoo?
When you have a tattoo the particles of ink are too large for the body to destroy, so instead it encapsulates these particles with a network of collagen fibres as the skin heals, leaving the tattoo visible.
How does the Laser work to fade and sometimes remove your tattoo?
The laser emits a pulse of light that is absorbed into certain colours of ink.
The light enters the skin at a speed producing a ‘shock wave’ effect which breaks up the ink particles into small pieces. The body recognises these particles as ‘foreign’ and attacks them, after which they are removed naturally via the body’s own elimination system.
Can you treat all colours with laser tattoo removal treatment?
Unfortunately not. The laser works best on black, dark blue and red inks.
It is possible to treat other colours although white, yellow and bright colours can be difficult to remove.
If your plan is to cover-up an existing tattoo then lighter colours cover very easily and the darker colours will be faded or removed, allowing you greater choice of size and colour of the cover-up design you choose.
How many laser treatments will it take to treat my tattoo?
Unfortunately, due to the nature of this procedure, it is impossible to predict exactly how many treatments it will take for complete results. It could take as little as 3 treatments for an amateur tattoo or as many as 10 treatments for a professionally applied tattoo. How quickly your ink fades will depend on several factors, such as the colours of your tattoo, the type of ink used and how your body responds to the laser treatment.
How much will it cost to fade or remove my tattoo?
The price to start fading your tattoo will obviously vary depending on the size of the area to be treated, but you will be able to discuss fully with Josna at your consultation and she will advise on the likely timescales. You can see an idea of pricing here. All treatments are subject to a test patch costing £25.
