What can you expect?
You may be accompanied for treatment if you wish. On your first visit an assessment of your condition will be made and a treatment plan worked out with you to enable you to get better as quickly as possible.
You will always receive treatment at the first session, you will not simply receive an assessment be sent away to wait for treatment until your next session. Each session is 30 minutes long.
It is important for us to see the problem area so you may be asked to remove some clothing. Your modesty will be protected at all times and you may bring shorts if you wish.
Our Physiotherapy team
Cathie studied at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham qualifying as Chartered Physiotherapist in 1978. After working at Withington Hospital Manchester and then at the Royal Victoria in Newcastle Upon Tyne, where she ran specialist Paediatric services, she moved back to Manchester working in Central Manchester Community Service and then at the Royal Manchester Childrens’ Hospital.
After the birth of her daughter Cathie worked for Kevin Murphy, at Bupa Manchester, then Physiotherapist to the England and British Lions rugby teams. Here she gained excellent experience in sports injuries and musculoskeletal problems. Cathie started her practice in Knutsford working closely with local GPs and hospital consultants. She is part of an Orthopaedic interest group with surgeons from Macclesfield General Hospital.
Cathie has drawn together a team of highly experienced clinicians to help get you back on track.

Dione trained in physiotherapy at Edinburgh, qualifying in 1987. After qualifying she worked in Bath, as a junior doing four monthly rotations through a general hospital. She then became a senior, specialising in outpatients and orthopaedics. Whilst travelling around the world Dione spent some time at the Prince Henry Hospital in Melbourne.
On her return from Australia, Dione became the senior physiotherapist at the Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Cambridgeshire specialising in Outpatients and then latterly Orthopaedics. After marrying, Dione has spent several years working in Sheffield and one year working in Australia.
